In many communities, women are the first to feel the effects of a changing climate and the last to be asked how to respond.
Women often manage household water, food and energy. When rains fail, floods rise or farmland suffers, it is often women and girls who walk further, work longer and give up time for school or business.
From burden to leadership
The same experience makes women powerful leaders on climate. They understand what their communities need, and they pass knowledge on to the next generation. That is why women’s climate leadership is one of IHF’s core objectives.
What we do
- Train girls, women and youth in green and climate-smart skills.
- Promote women’s participation in climate policy, advocacy and sustainable solutions.
- Work with communities and partners on inclusive, lasting projects.
Climate solutions are stronger when everyone affected helps shape them. Partner with us to put more women at the table.
